Are business meal expenses deductible?

According to the Bluebook of The Joint Committee on Taxation, a business meal expense is considered entertainment and not deductible.

However, there is uncertainty. The committee for Tax Cuts and Jobs Acts (TCJA) P.L. 115-97 has stated business meal expenses will be 50% deductible per Congress rules.

If the food-and-beverage expenses were purchased separately from the entertainment,

taxpayers can deduct 50%. This rule falls under Notice 2018-76.
